Trying to set up decorations on a super windy day was no easy task. But thanks to Lily and Lucia, the decorations looked very patriotic! We had a great bonfire going and listened to classic tunes like 'American Pie' 'Thank God I'm a Country Boy' and 'Born in the USA.'
With our grill master Ms. Bostaph, the menu was classic Americana. Hot dogs, burgers, chips, fruit punch, ice cream cones, cookie cake, and so much more was brought in and enjoyed. Thanks to : Lily, Lucia, Hasini, Ryan, Noah, and Ben for bringing food for us to enjoy!
Baseball is an American tradition unlike any other. So we brought the tradition with a kickball game at a neighborhood sandlot. The final score was 14-9, but the real win was getting ice cream back home.
A quiet local playground was like a trip down memory lane. The clanging of swing set chains, the seesaw squeaking, and the feeling of climbing up a slide - things we have forgotten. Before heading back home, we stayed for a while to unlock old childhood memories.
A big bonfire, sparklers, and glow sticks lit up the night as we played soccer, football, and jumped on the trampoline in the backyard.
